The book starts out with JB instructing Jonah, Katherine , and Andrea, who is suppose to be Virginia Dare. Andrea is in a rush to leave because someone by the name of Second told her a code that would help her stop her adopted parents death, but turns out to make the Elucidator disappear and sends them to the wrong time, 1600's. After helping John White, Virginia's grandfather, not drown. They follow two Native American boys that are bring him, John White, to Croatoan where he thought his family was. during the trip there, Second sends two other kids to help Jonah and the rest of them, by making them land right on top of him by something called a time smack. the two boys, Antonio and Brendan, were actually the Native american boys, so they stayed connected to there Tracers. Towards the end of the book, Second is reviled to be Sam Chase, JB's projectionist, the guy who tells JB how likely the children were able to succeed by running projections with every possible variable. He messed with time and made it so John White did see his grand daughter, even though they were never suppose to meet. JB does a time smack and appears right behind Second, taking him down. Second apparently counted this variable in his projection of this happening, so he already predicted this. he tapped on the Elucidator that disappeared earlier that was also in Andrea's hand, setting off a ripple in time. JB sent all the children back, leaving him and the dog. Second made a way to bring the children back to the 1600's but Andrea made Jonah and Katherine carry on. now they are in 1611, before the ripple and given a chance to save time.

The story opened a bit more, in my opinion. For the past two books, the enemy was defeated at the end, or they found a way to keep the kids and let time run as usual, while this time Second is TRAVELING to the next book so to say. The descriptions for this book was good, I could picture the setting clearly. The way i see it, JB is getting mentioned more through the series, even though this is the third book. Around the part when Antonio and Brendan appear there felt like a rush in the words but after that the timing was good. I like how the characters didn't change too much, beside when they connected with there tracers, so the main characters didn't do any unrealistic changes in personality. That is my report on the book, very good in my opinion. ( )

So if you could change time and stop bad things, would you? Easy answer, people, NO! There are too many unintended consequences and unforeseen circumstances. As a human in the year 2017 I'm already freaked out about overpopulation, and I imagine that anything good you'd want to do would save lives, so yes, overpopulation in the present is more likely to happen with lives saved in the past, but it could lead to more death. Let's say you stop one war and a worse war results, or you save someone who ends up being patient zero in an epidemic. There are no way to guarantee avoiding negative consequences even doing something wonderful. So yes, I saw what Second was doing and freaked out. I also noticed that again we had multiple kids being saved - probably for the best because 36 books would be quite a long series. This one ended in a bit of a cliff-hanger, so we'll see where the next one goes. ( )

Sabotaged(Book 3 of the Missing Series)

By: Margaret Peterson Haddix

Katherine, Jonah, and Andrea go back in time to cover up the disappearing of Andrea. They all end up on an island in the middle of nowhere. They venture into the woods to find tracer Indians. They follow them back to a ruin of a village. Native Americans used to live here and this is where Andrea comes from. They walk back to the ocean only to see a man floating in the ocean. With cuts and bruises the three friends bring him back to the village. The man is still asleep and they find out it’s Andrea’s grandfather. When he wakes up after a long period of time, he tells us his name is Second. Andrea doesn’t know if we should trust him. Should we?

This book was filled with weird twists and turns. The author expresses the suffering of getting the man out of the ocean very well. This book didn’t have as much action as the others in this series. My feelings are pretty positive but I wished there was more action. ( )
