After hearing many good things about these books I took the plunge and loved it! The author does a wonderful job of showing a more realistic view of the character's relationships and the trials they face while trying to take down the Veerks. Cassie spends the better part of the book as a variety of animals/insects such as a rat, termite, owl, and skunk while trying to save a litter of baby skunks whose mom was taken to a rescue. She questions the group's desire to save the human race and I get the hint that she would rather stay morphed than deal with human life problems. As an English teacher, I would use this book to connect with students who appreciate animals and the environment. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

There's something pretty weird going on in the woods behind Cassie's house, the place where Ax and Tobias call home. It seems the Yeerks have figured out one very important fact: Andalites cannot survive without a feeding ground. Visser Three knows the "Andalite bandits" don't feed where he does, so there can only be one other place. Now the Animorphs have to figure out a way to stop a bogus logging operation. Because if Visser Three finds Ax in the woods, nothing will stop him from finding the Animorphs. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

I'm not entirely sure yet where Cassie falls into my order of the Animorphs and how I's rank them (as much as is certain is know who I'm most interested in and who I'm definitely least interested in). Cassie and Cassie's stories fall somewhere in the middle. I feel like Cassie's stories, and Cassie, herself, is the heart everything.
She's softer. She's sweeter. She cares for the trees more than forest, and people need that context especially children who definitely generalize and skip over things too fast, the way a lot of plot movement and Animorphs team decisions go about being made. With a willingness to suddenly be ruthless and not care about what gets caught in the crossfire as long as the mustache-twirling alien's are thwarted for just one more day.
I am definitely loving watching her grow. ( )
