First, I did not like how hard some words were not only hard to read for children, but also hard to understand what they mean. For example, words such as Bedelia, Shaunnessy, Mulligan, Mischievous, Shillelagh, along with many other words. Second, I did not like how some words and sentences did not flow well because they make it flow how a leprechaun would sound like. Third, I did not like how throughout the illustrations there is so much green. I understand that green is an St. Patrick’s Day color, but for example, there is so much green throughout the illustrations that everything kind of just blends together on the page. The big idea of the story was about a variety of St. Patrick’s Day traditions. This book is about the Leprechaun family celebrating St. Patrick's Day. I liked this book for two reasons. First, the illustrations are appropriate to the mood of the story. The whole book is about celebrating St. Patricks Day and the luck of the Irish. The illustrations are mostly colored with varying shades of green, the color associated with St. Patrick's Day; even the plates that the Leprechaun's use to eat are green. Second, the writing flows well due to the poetic style. For example, "Lassies and laddies stream through the door, until there's no room for one caller more." The big idea of this book was to show how people celebrate St. Patrick's Day (going to parades, having feasts, etc). nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
The St. Patrick's Day parade is ready to start. The Leprechauns are marching with lots of heart. If you follow along, you'll find laughter and fun - and the luck of the Irish - before the day is done! Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
