After devouring Found, I raced around the libraries to locate Sent. I read this one quickly too, but it wasn't as enjoyable. Which demonstrates to myself again that I am more into future than past when it comes to my reading interests. I couldn't not read this one, but I wish it was as interesting as the first. The first developed the concept and characters nicely. The second was just a rushed "episode". ( )

I truly loved this book but ONE of the characters really got on my nerve. The character was annoying till the end then it got a whole lot better. Way better then the first book ( )

the book starts out with a prologue saying the end of the first book. JB, a character who works in time travel, sends Alex, Chip, Jonah, three character who are not from the 21st century, and Katherine, who is from the 21st century, to the 15th century because Chip and Alex are Edward and Richard, Edward/chip is suppose to be the king of England and France while Richard/Alex is the prince, Chip and Alex are brothers. in the book you find out there uncle, Richard the third is going to kill them, or send someone to kill them. there are these things called TRACKERS, which are ghost like things of what the person was doing then, and Alex and Chip join theirs and two men try to throw both the boys out the window and Katherine and Jonah are able to grab them before they fall, Chip gets mad, convinced that JB wanted them dead, and breaks the Elucidator, a device that allows you to understand how the past talked, and can't talk to JB till it is repaired soon they find out how to turn invisible and go try the haunt Richard the third after he is declared king and sees Chip, because the Elucidator is fixed and they start running to a crypt, where they run into some Monks and learn how Richard the third became king. toward the end of the book there is a huge battle and that reveals that Katherine likes Chip. in the battle Richard says to give back the thrown due to what Jonah and Kathrine told him, making him think they were angels, so he listens. Chip and Alex are pulled out of there trackers the moment they could be kill and get taken back to the cave by another time traveller . the end of the book says that chip and alex can live a normal life without worrying about ruining time. Jonah and Katherine are asked to go back in time with a dong and another child.

In my personal opinion, THIS BOOK WAS AWESOME! The 'timing' seemed Perfect and the suspense had me at the edge of my seat. I could clearly imagine the setting of which the story took place due to the good descriptions. I never wanted to put the book down so it had a really good way to reel in the reader. Since this is a fiction book that is suppose to take place in a real event in history, i feel that it was really convincing because it stayed with the facts like at the end the the author put how what happened to Edward and Richard is still a mystery but people think two skeletons found in the tower was them. i like the character change and that is probably how you would act if you were them. In the end i like not only the close attaention the the detail of the setting, but the detail of the characters in which that is how they would have been like. ( )

I was on the fence about reading this. I really enjoyed the first book in the series, but the premise of this one (time traveling to save kids who were meant to have died in the past) didn't interest me. I thought I'd give it a go since Haddix's work is generally fascinating, and yes, it was good. Time traveling is kind of disturbing to me because of the whole paradox risk thing, but I thought she handled it well, and kept the story interesting. Yes, I'm going to keep reading this series even though there might be thirty books to go. ( )
