This is Glen's story, and man, it sure does explain why he was such an ass in the first two books. I see at least a few reviewers totally missed why, even though it's mentioned more than once.

Reading comprehension is hard, apparently.

One of them didn't miss it, but doesn't believe it. Okay. Well. Google is your friend, if you want to learn what anabolic steroid use does. He seems like a different person - YES. Exactly. Geesh.

Anyway, I enjoyed this one every bit as much as the first two novels, and it's because our point of view character is trying, despite misconceptions, and succeeding, despite hits to his self-esteem. It's a little heavy-handed in the sex talk, but not out of character for the guys. (Glen's list of times he lost consciousness while working a ranch? Yeah. It's not easy work at all. Also, steroids mess with ability.)

This isn't my favorite trilogy by a long shot. But I have enjoyed it, obviously. I particularly enjoyed Glen's band of orphans and would love a trilogy about them! ( )
