She's feeling the heat. Or it might be a hot flash. Sometimes it's really hard to tell. It's been four years since Monica lost the love of her life to a sudden and devastating heart attack. She's held her family together and picked herself up with the love and help of her two best friends. Now Monica has a new business, a new wardrobe, and a new vision for the future. As in actual psychic visions. Dreams that manifest in reality? Monica's still not sure why or how it happened, but she's been seeing everything from unexpected visitors to visions of fire and destruction. Separating premonitions from morbid imagination is proving harder than Monica expected, and no one can tell her if these new, violent visions will become a reality. Added to that, there's a new fire investigator in town, and he's more than a little suspicious about the anonymous and frighteningly accurate tips someone is calling in. Monica is feeling the heat… or is that a hot flash? Is their town about to feel the burn of a serial arsonist, or can Monica, Robin, and Val figure out the dangerous secret smoldering at the heart of Glimmer Lake? Psychic Dreams is a standalone paranormal women's fiction novel in the Glimmer Lake series by USA Today best seller Elizabeth Hunter, author of the Elemental Mysteries and the Irin Chronicles.… (altro)

Fun Ending to the Glimmer Lake Trilogy
I wasn’t sure if I would like Monica‘s story, but it ended up being great. I won’t summarize the book for you like most of the other reviews, but I will recommend it. ( )

Psychic Dreams by Elizabeth Hunter
#3 of the Glimmer Lake series. Paranormal women’s fiction. Can be read as a stand-alone but best read as part of the series.
Monica has psychic visions as a result of the car accident she and her two friends, Robin and Val had a few years back. Monica is seeing fire in her dreams. She and her friends, along with a new fire Marshall in town, will peel apart the clues and use local ghosts to prevent a tragedy. Or worse.

Monica, Robin and Val have created such a tight friendship this it’s inspiring. I love their immediate and unasked for help even bringing in spouses and children. Unconditional love and support make the mystery and events believable. Why not? Isn’t it a fact that as humans we use less than 10% of the brain? Ok, that’s a myth, but I choose to believe that some psychic abilities are real.
Entertaining, suspenseful and delightful.
Th epilogue ties this series to the next in Moonstone Cove. I’m diving in soon. ( )

Series Info/Source: I borrowed this as an ebook for Kindle through Kindle Unlimited. This is the third (and final) book in the Glimmer Lake series.

Story (4/5): I continue to enjoy following Monica, Robin, and Val around as they sleuth through supernatural mysteries. This book focuses on Monica and her dreams that Glimmer Lake is going to burn down in a massive forest fire. As the three track down other smaller cabin fires and the mystery behind the history of those buildings, they uncover a whole bunch of secrets. Meanwhile Monica also finds herself very involved with the new fire chief… This was very engaging and well done, it was a quick and entertaining read.

Characters (4/5): The characterization is wonderful in this series as a whole. However, I didn’t love Monica as much as Val or Robin. She was still a well done character...she’s just a bit more vanilla than the other two. Additionally, Monica’s interaction with her kids wasn’t as fun as it was with Val because her kids are older and just more distanced from her. However, I did really enjoy Gabe the new fire inspector and the relationship he and Monica end up in.

Setting (4/5): I love the Glimmer Lake setting. I enjoyed that we got to learn more about the former Grimer Lake and that we got to venture a bit out into the wilderness in this book. The whole setting is very well done and makes for an entertaining story that feels kind of cozy. It was interesting to see the wildfire issues out in California take a front seat in this story too.

Writing Style (4/5): Elizabeth Hunter is quickly becoming a favorite writer for me. She has a ton of books available. They are well written and easy to read; great guilty pleasure reads that are a very pleasant diversion. She balances excellent characterization, interesting settings, a bit of romance, an intriguing mystery and some supernatural elements very well. I plan on checking out more of her series.

My Summary (4/5): Overall I really enjoyed this book and loved the series as a whole. I plan on starting the sister series to this, Moonstone Cove, very soon and will also check out some of her other urban fantasy series. This whole series was well done and they were quick, entertaining reads that are definitely a bit of a guilty pleasure. I greatly enjoyed every book in this series! I would recommend if you are interested in reading about protagonists who are older with families and find themselves with crazy supernatural powers that lead them into crazy supernatural mysteries.
