Poetry for Young People is a collection of poetry by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The book has a collection of poems with many different themes and ideas. There are illustrations to help comprehend. The illustrations are dull and rough looking. They do not capture the eye and flipping through the book it does not look appealing. Although there are great poems in the book, due to the lack of color and the high comprehension needed to interpret the poems this book would be more appropriate for middle school and more likely high school. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

This book is filled with a bunch of different poems written by the same person, Henry Longfellow. In each poem, Henry is telling about the things that are going on in England during the 1800's. He is describing the scenery, the people, and everything about England in a very detailed manner.
Personal Reaction:
The descriptions in the poems gave me the chills. It made me feel as if I was there in England with Henry. He described everything so well, you can tell he really put his heart into each and every poem.
Classroom Ideas:
1. Have the children write poems describing where they live.
2. Have the children pick a poem from the book and then draw a picture that matches what the poem is about.
