Whether a new fan or an old fan this is a great book about Steve McQueen. The cool format of this book allows the reader to learn a lot about him in a quick, easy-to-read format. He was a resilient ,funny, sensitive / romantic, animal-lover. The star connections during his life are awe-struck. The descriptions and photos really give the reader an insight into Steve McQueen's life. This is a very entertaining "biography" and I am inspired to watch more of his movies. ( )

While the non-linear timeline is confusing at points, I appreciate that the author did not want to write another biography on Steve McQueen and this jumping around is a way to ensure that this book remains one of facts, not narrative. That being said, I think this book is best served for those readers who have a base knowledge of McQueen already and are looking for a fun fact/trivia companion. Overall, it feels like the book could use a good editing - better word choice (specifically more sophisticated words in certain areas), less exclamation points, and a deep read through to ensure the facts are in an order that makes sense. The facts feel disjointed because they are given only semi-chronological; oftentimes I found myself needing more details to understand a fact, and the details cropped up a dozen numbers later. It became more frustrating and confusing than enjoyable. ( )

The book was interesting; while I am not a huge Steve McQueen fan there were many interesting facts regarding his acting career and his love of racing. I liked the style of the writing as well. ( )

Interesting if you are a Steve McQueen fan and maybe even if you aren't. It consists of paragraphs containing facts about all parts of his life. His personal life, his acting and his movies, his racing. ( )

This book with 1001 facts about Steve McQueen is not as compelling as I was expecting. This is a book published by CarTech and there are many technical details of the vehicles used by Steve McQueen. I was more interested in the biographical information about the man but I would get confused. Even though each chapter covered a period of time, the facts would jump around chronologically with each wife of McQueen's being mentioned. There were also typos which made the facts harder to comprehend. All in all, I'm now interested in watching Steve McQueen movies but I feel like I need to read a standard biography to really learn about McQueen's life.
