Not one of the better stories. I felt there would be more excitement with the wildlife refuge element (escaped bear; caged mountain lion) and mysterious with the location of an abandoned silver mine. But the story went in a different direction and the plot felt contrived. ( )

I wasn't very impressed with this book. It seemed like Nancy wasn't as eager about this case as usual, and the back-cover summary basically gives away a lot of the plot. ( )
