So close to a 5 star but not quite.

I loved it and was sorry to see the end.
BUT
It alludes to a new series that will be connected to this one and Fantasyland!
That makes me very, VERY happy! ( )

What a conclusion. I have binge read nothing but this series for the past 2 days. It was well worth it.
I will say again, i am glad I waited to read it rather than listen to it because it would have lost some of its magic because there is just TOO much to keep track of between characters, storylines, and situations.

There has been some sadness in this series, but this one definitely had me a couple of times. There is a message amidst all this madness of a crazy story. Actually, there were two that stood out to me the most. First like the FantasyLand series was that Love can and will heal and prevail regardless of any of the labels. That is a beautiful thing. The second is that family comes in a plethora of ways and that too should not be labeled or solely defined by blood.

This author and her magical touch were all through this series. There is the typical assertive alpha male that she is known for, there is the suspense, the sisterhood connection, the male bonding, the great fight scenes, and the steam. There is also so much detail and planning and incredible world-building. There is a hint of the Mystics, and I am ALL for that.

Were there things that I wished were a bit different? Absolutely, the first being I wished they had the chance to have separate stories so that more could be focused on just those characters. Much like how the Fantasyland series was done. Even though it did work I still would have preferred it the other way. That way the introduction of new or secondary characters wouldn't have made the story harder to follow. Regardless, I am most pleased with this story/series and think it is one of her bests. For anyone on the fence, I highly recommend at least trying this. Even if slow going in, the story is worth it. ( )
