I hated most of it, and the only good thing was the Hero. I saw other reviews that said the Josh is a total dick, and they hated him, but I honestly can't relate to that, because he was the only thing that made me continue reading. Lynsey was a total bitch - fucking crazy and manipulative (especially when she decided to make this parents' dinner). She was selfish and audacious. She blamed Josh for everything and didn't support him, always so pushy, and always turning his trauma to her advantage. I couldn't stand her. The story was nothing unique, but I am glad the baby came in the last chapter (cause that would've definitely made me DNF). The writing was good and I enjoyed some of the jokes, but that was it. Tbf, I can't see them working out. They were toxic together, and Josh deserved better. 1/5 Would not recommend. This book was my introduction to Amy Daws and ended up being one of my favorites of 2020. Josh and Lynsey's introduction was somewhere between meet-cute and enemies at first sight. Their story was emotional but also had a lot of laugh-out-loud moments. Amy Daws has an amazing talent of putting her characters in hilarious situations and making them say the funniest things. That is balanced with enough emotion and serious moments to make for a very satisfying story. The narration was great. Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton are absolute pros. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

That awkward moment when an ER doctor has to inform you that you're pregnant ... with his baby. Three things Lynsey Jones knows about the hot doctor: he's grouchy, an arrogant jerk, and strangely obsessed with pie. Three things Dr. Josh Richardson knows: he doesn't talk about his past, he doesn't do relationships, and the crazy girl in the hospital cafeteria who ate a fistful of French silk pie ... is annoyingly irresistible. After a chance meetup at a bar and a heated cab ride together, things come to a head and now instead of hating each other, they're horizontal in a bed. Three months later, the weird cafeteria stalker who crept out of Josh's house like a thief in the night, winds up as his patient in the ER after her Tinder date from hell. The doctor is prepared to keep it cool and professional. That is until her bloodwork reveals that she's pregnant. What really throws him for a loop ... is that the surprise baby ... is his. Amy Daws books are anti-abortion. In every book of hers I have read that included a pregnancy (always unplanned) the pregnant character ALWAYS makes a point to stress they would NEVER, EVER have an abortion. This book is yet another instance. Anyway, I regret having read any of her books. ( )
