F/SF A good continuation of this series: This was a good followup to this series, an enjoyable afternoon which each of the novellas. Some of the storylines do continue through multiple books, making it worthwhile to read them all in order. We get a bit more fleshing out of Known Space and the kzin in general, and although different authors contribute, the whole thing is generally cohesive. Nothing in here will be a permanent classic (like Ringworld), but they aren't supposed to be. Other sci-fi writers are just taking a light foray into Niven's universe. Bring the series to the beach. An outgrowth of the Known Space series. Other authors write about Niven's race of cat-warriers, the Kzin. This book contains two short novels: - "Briar Patch," by Dean Ing, is a sequel to another Man-Kzin Wars story, about an ethologist marooned on a zoo planet with Kzin. 130 pages - "Children's Hour," by Jerry Pournelle and S. M. Sterling, is about an attempt to assassinate a Kzin general; it also pays homage to the movie Casablanca. 170 pages. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
The alien Kzinti had almost conquered the humans, but after the initial surprise, the humans fought back with a ferocity the Kzinti had never faced. But that was centuries ago, and the humiliation of lost battles has not faded. The Kzinti are back . . . and spoiling for a fight! Includes stories by Larry Niven, Dean Ing, Jerry Pournelle and S.M. Stirling. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
