Charles Darwin hated school. He was bad at memorizing and his teachers called his experiments "useless". But he loved nature. He loved it so much that went through 5 years of sea sickness to study plants and animals. He went all around the world. He went from England to Australia then South America. Darwin on his voyage he discovered new species and made theories about evolution.
Since this its an easy book it wasn't that boring. I don't really like nonfiction books in general. A four for a nonfiction book is pretty good. It did help me learn about Charles Darwin though. I have to confess, I didn't know that make about Darwin before. This book did a good job of explaining Darwin's life. So all in all this book was good. ( )

Who Was Charles Darwin? by Deborah Hopkinson is a fantastic book that really gets in there and tells a lot of Charles' life growing up and his long travels. It also gives much more detail to his personal life then I have read before. Over 100 pages of great info. Made for middle grades but the whole family will love this book. Borrowed this book for the library. ( )

This is a wonderful book to teach children who Charles Darwin was. However like any sort of biographical book children may grow bored from reading about it. However, I think it is an important book even for adults to read and learn about, after all Charles Darwin has impacted life as we know it greatly.
The book does very good job when describing Charles Darwin, the man - who was the son of a physician and who, besides being methodical and curious, actually wanted to be a minister. The book also did a great job elaborating about the differences between "theory" and "Theory" throughout the book. This book also has a decent amount of illustrations which makes it a bit easier and more enjoyable to read. ( )
