A book for those who are just starting to become readers with bold and large font text. The words are simple and many are repeated multiple times. Accompanied by the familiar bright illustrations by well known author and illustrator Eric Carle.
The story is new although the illustrations look familiar, talking about the sun where it is in the sky but also what it does. The illustration will be clear enough to give hints about the text.
There is a note for parents and caregivers with helpful hints to make reading a success. After the title page there is a spread for the reader to familiarize themselves with all the words used in the book, highlighting word families, sight words and bonus words.
A wonderful addition to libraries that can use books for new readers. Since the imagery is mature enough it could be a good fit for readers who English is not their native language. The reviewer had a hardback copy.
