Sam and Lacey are hired by a genius gazillionaire who is seriously involved with climate change but little interaction with anything in the outdoors. He even has them transported via stealth limo and private jet from private airport to private airport. It is an odd experience for them, but Sam has a relaxing time with some Zen practices involving sand and a rake.
The investigative aspect is in a fantastic mansion in upstate New York with a long history and where the gardener and his staff have experienced a very angry ghost who has seriously frightened them.
Of course, it's another excellent read!
Julie John is the talented voice actor who masterfully narrates this series. ( )

In this, their fourteenth case, Sam and Lacey get the opportunity to experience how the other half live when a multi-millionaire whisks them off to his luxury home, where his gardener is terrified of an unfriendly ghost in one of the extensive property's outbuildings. Lacey's research unearths the mysterious disappearance of a gangster many years previously and discovers that 'honour amongst thieves' doesn't always hold true.

Bowersock is always true to her style…and to her readers. You never have to wonder if the next Sam and Lacey mystery is going to live up to the one before, before: it always does. Their business is always about releasing a ghost from its painful ties, of course, but each case is different, new and fresh.

But all his smarts and money can’t seem to get rid of a ghost problem he has at one of his mansions. So, Lacey and Sam fly across country, in style no less, and do what they do best.

I love how each one of these stories unfold with the first walk to see what kind of info Sam can get about the ghost and then Lacey’s research to track said ghost down when they were alive. This time it’s mobster related. Wow. No wonder the ghost is so pissed. Not sure how I feel about Cameron, but I like the other characters. An interesting quick read. ( )
