My kids (5yo & 3yo) asked for me to read it agin as soon as it was done. We love the sweet family ties throughout and the fall colors. It’s a sweet story about family, hard work, and love. It gave me the chance to talk to my kids about farms and farmers and how much hard work goes into stuff we take for granted (like milk and eggs). I actually renewed this one from the library so we could read it a few more times before returning it (until next year!). We recommend this book! nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

One hundred years ago, a little boy watched his family and community come together to build a grand red barn. This barn become his refuge and home-a place to play with friends and farm animals alike. As seasons passed, the barn weathered many storms. The boy left and returned a young man, to help on the farm and to care for the barn again. The barn has stood for one hundred years, and it will stand for a hundred more: a symbol of peace, stability, caring and community. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

Each time I read a book by Maclachlin, I think I found the best, and yet, then I read another and re-think my original feeling.
She is a writer that I admire and always find solace in her beautiful descriptions of a kind world, a good world with love and sharing. ( )
