This book achieves its goal of teaching about an important woman from history. Since it presents the text in both English and Spanish it could be a useful teaching tool. The illustrations are quite colourful and will probably grab the attention of children.

The story was interesting and written in English and Spanish about a woman in the Dominican Republic who was willing to fight for the land and her people that had worked so hard to cultivate it. It was nicely illustrated as well. I didn't request this book and am not sure why I was sent it, but the book had a good message and would be good for children to learn about an important historical figure in the Dominican Republic.
