1015 Russia and the Outbreak of the Seven Years' War, by Herbert H. Kaplan (read 16 Jul 1969) I was very bored by this book, and now even 40 years later I remember how boring I found this book. The outbreak of the Seven Years' War is much less interesting than the ending of that war, which Prussia was able to win because the Empress of Russia died and her nutty son so admired Frederick the Great that Russia's war against Frederick was brought to an end--inspiring Hitler to think he might win World War II when he heard of FDR's death on April 12, 1945.
