Cassie Logan, first met in Song of the Trees and Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, is a young woman now, searching for her place in the world, a journey that takes her from Toledo to California, to law school in Boston, and, ultimately, in the 60s, home to Mississippi to participate in voter registration. She is witness to the now-historic events of the century: the Great Migration north, the rise of the civil rights movement, preceded and precipitated by the racist society of America, and the often violent confrontations that brought about change. Rich, compelling storytelling is Ms. Taylor's hallmark, and she fulfills expectations as she brings to a close the stirring family story that has absorbed her for over forty years. It is a story she was born to tell.… (altro)

From Kirkus: "Surely the crown jewel of the Logan family saga. A heart-stopping plot about a character whose life has always been defined by her family and their land."

A fitting end to the Logan saga, and a bit deeper and darker than some previous entries. ( )

I really really wanted to like this book. I was excited for the new installment of the Logans Saga; I had read Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry and Let the Circle Be Unbroken as a middle schooler and LOVED them. I reread all of the series in preparation for All the Days Past, All the Days to come. Maybe its just me but I was disappointed in this installment. I felt that it dragged on in some sections and didn't go into enough details in others. It could have easily been split in different installments and I think I would have enjoyed it better. That being said I'm glad to have the chance to revisit the Logan family and find out more of what happened to them in the years following The Road to Memphis.

Based off of a family living in Mississippi, this book shows life through a young woman's life and how he tried to navigate through historical events. This book can be used in history classrooms as well as english classrooms due to its historical events throughout the book. This would be a fun way for student to be able to see what life was like around that time, especially for a young woman trying to find her way in the world. I highly recommend this book for middle school students interested in history. ( )

This end of the Logan family saga focuses on Cassie, its epilogue has her on the bus to Obama's Presidential inauguration. It is a heart-stirring read. It is not necessary to read the previous books to experience this book. Family love remains the cornerstone of the Logan family, the time period leads up to and includes the rising Civil Rights movement. ( )
