It's the perfect cause and effect story. What happened at the beginning to make the knight fall in love with the princess? Well in order to find that answer you have to read the entire book. This book is a perfect example of how a chain reaction works. It's a great teaching moment for young minds. Each cause has an effect that will not only make you laugh but it will make you pause. Then question it. I couldn't help but laugh. Yes, it's a book about a princess. Yes it's a book with a happily every after. However I don't see how any kid couldn't love this book and all it's ridiculous. I love the illustrations throughout as well. This book is made to look old. It's made to look like it's a classical fairy tale with it's branch wrapped borders. There are giants, there are animals, and there are "normal" sized people. There are even inanimate objects that have faces. Even the illustrations are nonsensical. They just add to the vibe of the story. Overall this is a fun quick read that I could see any audience loving. ( ) The media looks to be pen and ink but is not listed. this was a book that started at the end of the story and as you flipped each page, followed why the "happily ever after" happened. It will say what happened then "this happened because.." and then go on to the part of the story before it until on the last page we find out what started the whole debacle. I enjoyed this book not really for the story but for the creativity in which it was written. It took something we do not really think about (the order of the book always going from start to finish, from the first page of the front to the last page of the back) and reversed it! It made you think and held interest. I would use this for intermediate grades as they would know how a story should flow and find it silly and cool that it started at the end. I would use this to introduce the topic of learning story order adn maybe teach them to write the beginning, middle, and end of stories. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
