I have listened to random books in the Montgomery Ink world, none actually in order. I first knew of Arden in her brother Cross's story, Forever Only Once. It was nice to hear how she and Liam met and fell in love. This is a heartbreaking story based on the situation with Arden's health. It was also a beautiful story about family taking care of each other and this man choosing to stick around when leaving would be easier.

Narration by Joe Arden was great and I felt like he brought a lot of life and emotion into the story and was not just reading it me. I cannot tell if it was the narration or the actual story that made this one of my favorites by Carrie Ann Ryan. Either way, I just know this one will be hard to top.

Carrie Anne Ryan writes great books that stand on their own but also help to flesh out the world that all her intertwined stories exist in. She is one of my favorite cozy Sunday afternoon/relaxing beach day reads. All of her books are must reads for me. ( )

Carrie Ann Ryan manages to make metting in a hospital emergency room romantic. Liam Montgomery is there because a scaffold collapse and hit him. Arden is in the next bed suffering from a flare up of her lupus. He takes her number but never calls.
A few weeks later, she is walking her dog and when he escapes guess who manages to catch him. It turns out they only live about 2 blocks apart. Even better, they discover that he writes books and she does research and creates compendia for his books. Since their careers used different names they didn't know that they had already been working together.
Both of them have issues. Arden's are physical and can be seen. Liam's are internal and come from a secret from his past that was just revealed. Together they help each other and fall in love.
