A lot of people would be surprised to know that, as a teenager, Ruth Bader Ginsburg twirled a baton at school football games. The reviewer for "Kirkus" said of this book, ". . .[T]he message that defined Ginsburg's [legal] career that a girl is, 'just as important as a boy,' shines clear. Ginsburg goes on to become only the second woman to serve on the Supreme Court. Jake Murray's many pen and ink illustrations throughout add to the enjoyment of this work. This book includes a timeline of Ginsburg's life and one of the world. Absolutely love this book. This book gave a quick glance of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, including information from her personal and political life. It had illustrations to go along with most pages, and also included little boxes of information on topics discussed throughout the book. Definitely recommend for anyone needing quick but interesting information. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is famous for her stylish collars (called jabots) and her commanding dissents. This opera-loving New Yorker has always spoken her mind; as a young lawyer, RBG advocated for gender equality and women's rights when few others did.
