Mia and her husband have recently moved from stressful, fast-paced Philadelphia to settle into a cute country home in Hope Springs, where they can breathe fresh air and emotionally recover from two miscarriages before trying again to have a child. As they get to know their neighbors in the small town, Mia is shocked to meet the man whose face has consistently appeared in her dreams since she was in college. And what does it mean that, once she gets the chance to speak to him (at the risk of sounding like a lunatic), Oliver reveals that he has been dreaming about her too?

I brought this along on vacation, and both the mood and setting were a perfect fit. I'm truly surprised this hasn't received more buzz — I couldn't put it down. It was emotional, fascinating and more than a little bit heartbreaking. The author kept me guessing where it was going, and I appreciated the restraint shown. Recommended for your next getaway! ( )

I was drawn into this immediately. I couldn’t stop thinking about it and spent the past 48 hours really just waiting until I could get back to reading it. It’s heartbreaking and mysterious and also just a beautiful love story. Someone should make a movie of this pronto. ( )

Whew, this book! The premise is that a woman has been having dreams of the same man ever since she was in high school… and then suddenly, he appears in her life. Of course, she’s already married and has her own life. Complications. This was an interesting story that kept me reading from start to end. The author had wonderful pacing, lots of surprises and oh the twists I didn’t see coming! It was quite the tearjerker in places and also had some infidelity. Overall, a very good read.

Trigger Warnings: infidelity, shooting, death of a child, miscarriage

You Were There Too is a unique take on the regular contemporary romance novel. This genre can be hit or miss for me but You Were There Too ended up being a surprise hit. It was one of those books that when I saw that it included elements of dreams I wasn't sure exactly where it was going to go. Anything that takes on a more fantastical side can sometimes lose me quickly as a reader. I am so glad I hung on though!

This book was so much more emotional and the characters had a depth that made this book one of those ones I felt super connected to. The dream elements added so much to the storyline, I think because there were so many "real life" issues and situations that pulled it into reality for me. This was a lot more emotional than I was expecting. The storyline was full of smaller twists and turns that kept me guessing and I just loved the uniqueness of this one. I am part of the Blog Tour for this book in January 2020 and I look forward to sharing more then! ( )

Ohhhhh dear me! I LOVED the characters....Mia and Harrison and Oliver.....and the story had me totally consumed but....I wish, wish, wish there was an epilogue a few years later. One can only HOPE that the "real" ending is in the future for this story and not only what the author provided and possibly suggested. ( )

Dorothy: It's funny, but I feel as if I'd known you all the time, but I couldn't have, could I?

The Scarecrow: I don't see how. You weren't around when I was stuffed and sewn together, were you?

The Tinman: And I was standing over there, rusting for the longest time.

Dorothy: Still, I wish I could remember, but I guess it doesn't matter anyway. We know each other now, don't we?

[Mia describes marriage as being like her television from childhood] The connection gets loose sometimes---even to the point where you think it might not work anymore---but then something jars it and the wires slip back into place, exactly where they belong, lighting up the screen and bringing back the sound; everything as it should.
This is too much of a coincidence to be a coincidence.
Maybe the future already exists.
