This was a sweet, yet at times emotional book but we happily read when we have a wonderful pet. We Kerry who is struggling to keep up with all of her responsibilities. She has a dad that really needs her help, she volunteers at a vet center with her adorable dog that tends to steal the show in this book and her job, but I was rooting for her the whole time because she was smart enough to have gotten out of a bad relationship. We have Caleb (who we were introduced to in the first book) and your heart went out to him, yes sometimes you wanted to knock around a little but you understood, he was haunted and it was difficult for him. Kerry was just what Caleb needed along with out adorable corgi..Enjoy! Can a dog heal two wounded souls? Newly single Kerry Williams is at her wit's end. She's juggling her injured father's care, a new job as the manager of a hip new restaurant and her therapy dog Willow volunteering at the Veteran's Center -- all while struggling to rise above her humiliating heartbreak. When her father's caretaker fails to show one evening, she's terrified she'll lose her job. And then Willow runs away. Panicked, Kerry gives chase and immediately runs smack into a tall, dark and sexy wall of muscle, palming a squirming bundle of fur. Her new hero seems like an answer to her prayers. The last thing K-9 officer Caleb Bradshaw wants, is to babysit his neighbor's father and her dog. He's facing a potential career-ending injury and grieving the death of his working partner, Trigger. Sure he can handle a cranky old man, but the quiet comfort of Willow who follows him around with liquid-eyed sympathy tugs at the heart he's trying to keep walled-off after his many painful losses. Kerry knows Willow can ease Caleb's grief, but he continues to push her away. Even though her life is in shambles and she too should walk, Kerry knows she can't and won't. Will Caleb accept her help or will he close himself off completely? Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

This is a story that I treasure reading. It starts out with Kerry and she's had her father move in as he's wheel chair ridden now til his legs heal. She has to find care for him when she's working... she had nurses lined up but they don't show up.
Man next door who has PTS, Caleb is just thinking of retiring from the minilitary as he has enough time in and just not in his right mind to serve after having lost his dog in the battle. He has options on the table and he
will look into them. A little puppy shows up on his doorstep and he figures out the animal belongs to the woman next door. She can't figure out how the dog is getting to his side of the fence...
She is intrigued by the man and he agrees to stay with her father. They do get to spend together, hot adult scene and dinners together. She has to keep relying on Caleb and the dog is a therapy dog. She also donates her time at the VA helping others with her therapy dog.
Love how she manages the restaurant. Problems arise when the ex-boyfriend wants $30k from when she stayed at his house, NOT married over the years. Caleb tries to intervene...
Love how this ends and all the other help from tips for PTS.
Great read. Love this series, but can be read as stand alone.
Received this review copy from the publisher and this is my honest opinion. ( )
