Questi 4 volumi rappresentano la saga di fantascienza che più mi ha entusiasmato in assoluto. Idee incredibili, fantasiose, imprevedibili e geniali. È stata una lettura veramente appassionante. ( )
Di gran lunga il più bello dei quattro libri che compongono la saga. Ho amato la storia di Aenea e man mano ho tentato di capire come si sarebbe svolta, ma quando pensavo di aver capito ricevevo sempre sorprese, totali o parziali che fossero. A metà libro, per un attimo, ho pensato che fossero i suoi nemici ad avere ragione... ovviamente sbagliandomi. E anche verso la fine, quando pensavo di aver ormai capito tutto... è ottimo il modo in cui viene svelato l'ultimo interrogativo che ancora restava. Non posso non dare 5 stelle, mi è spiaciuto un sacco il fatto che la storia fosse definitivamente finita... mi sarebbe piaciuto continuare a scoprire il futuro dei suoi amici, del suo compagno... di tutta l'umanità. Una delle più grandi, epiche, belle, complesse, affascinanti opere di fantascienza mai scritte. Un costrutto immaginifico fantastico impressionante, che spazia dalla sf-hard a quella sociologica, da elementi fantasy a "religiosi", da semplici avventure a riflessioni poetiche, ecc... Pur con i suoi difetti (per es. innegabile una eccessiva lunghezza, certe parti sopratutto descrittive decisamente superflue o comunque esagerate) rimane un opera affascinante ed avvincente, un caposaldo della letteratura fantascientifica che fa storia. Imperdibile. ( )
