I’m in love with Lock

That was WOW, I felt I was watching a movie instead of reading that’s how entranced I was in this story. It started out intense with the gang thing but then we got to see the soft, funny, and caring side of Lock and how he adored Ember. Ember just wanted her independence but got so much more. I loved how it all worked out and the happiness all the couples eventually found. Amazing story and series. ( )

I had this on my TBR watch list because of the blurb. I didn't realize that it was part three of a series so I read it out of order. It seemed familiar to me so I kept reading until about the 25% mark when I finally looked it up to see that there were other parts before this. However, I kept reading because I was INVESTED. There was enough backstory for me to not be confused. I will be going back and reading the first two books and then this one again to get the true picture of this series.

That being said, this book had so many different layers to it. Some sweet, some dark, suspense, mystery, betrayal, tragedy, and love. The characters were multidimensional. They were portrayed so vividly that they came off the page. While this book is titled Lock, it felt like it was more Ember's story. Yes, there was a lot of Lock throughout the book but it seemed to be more his backstory and how ultimately he fit into the world of Ember and her family. Still a very good book and one that I am glad that I read. ( )
