This is so messy. The art was pretty much the only aspect I liked about this story. The writing was poor and cliché, the plot felt like a Stine rip-off more than an original, and the characters were incredibly bland. I know I'm above the target age range, but I truly don't know how much a middle-grade reader would actually like this either. "Just Beyond" is weak storytelling and just not entertaining. (

Normally, I don’t mess with anything horror, but the artwork was so appealing I had to read it. In particular, Dr. George P. Scare looked very menacing. Some of the dialogue feels so dated, and it makes me wonder if this is a direct adaption. This is also not scary in any form or way.

Anyway, a trio of kids get into some shenanigans when they see a robot at their school. Marco is the comic relief, but he WASN’T funny. Don’t nobody need to waste time listening to his dry jokes. Overall, not bad.

plot twist. I wasn’t expecting the ending.

Just beyond The Twilight Zone is another dimension not only of sight and sound but of stupidity. Yes, welcome to the Stupid Twilight Zone.

This done-in-one story has a stupid premise, stupid characters, and a stupid twist at the end. If I had to sum it up in a word, I would have to say . . . ummm . . . stupid.

I would only recommend this book to children I do not like. (
