If you want a good romance science fiction, with a punch of action. Then this is the book. At first, I didn't know it was part of a series because I won the book in a drawing. But I am totally following this series. ( ) Let me just say up front that I despise when a book ends on a "cliff hanger" and this book shows why. You get immersed in the world of the story and then bam! It's done. Not over, but done until the next installment. It feels like being awoken with a bucket of water. Ugh. Just yank me out of my reality unexpectedly. I hate that. Still I enjoyed this book. There were twists and turns and some heartbreak as Evie and Luc fight their way to each other and look for the information they need. Jennifer Armentrout doesn't disappoint. ARC provided by the publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review. holy alien babies. i definitely enjoyed this one way better than the darkest star, i finally found the jennifer armentrout i adored since the main series lux. it's trashy, it's messed up and what about it? i fucking loved it finallyfinally we saw the old crew from lux and i can't wait for the next books. evie and luc convinced me more in this book, they are definitely not at the same level as daemon and katy but they're growing on me. This is the second book in the Origin series. I do not recommend reading this as a standalone, as this picks up right from where we leave off in The Darkest Star. This does mention characters and things that happened during the Lux series as well. One thing that I really loved about this one was the romance. There was so much more between Luc and Evie than what we got in book one. Book one was introducing their relationship and friendship. We get a lot more of the two together in this one. I personally loved that since I am a romance lover. I like that we get past characters back again from the Lux series. I still would love a little more with their involvement. I do feel it is coming though based on where book two was going. My only complaint is that this was a little too long. I think some things could have been cut down or not even put it in at all. Overall, I still enjoyed this! I cannot wait for The Brightest Night. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

"When Evelyn Dasher crossed paths with Luc, she was thrown headfirst into the world of the Lux--only to discover that she was already far more involved in their world than she ever suspected. Because the Luxen aren't the only ones with a hidden past. There's a gap in Evie's memory, lost months of her life and a lingering sense that something happened, something she can't remember and nobody is willing to tell her. She needs to find out the truth about who she is--and who she was. But every answer she finds only brings up more questions. Her search for the truth brings her ever closer to Luc, the Origin at the center of it all. He's powerful, arrogant, inhumanly beautiful, extremely dangerous...and possibly in love with her. But even as Evie falls for him, she can't help but wonder if his attraction is to her, or to the memory of a girl who no longer exists. And all the while, a new threat looms: reports of a flu-like, fatal virus that the government insists is being spread by Luxen. A horrifying illness that changes whoever it touches, spreading panic across a country already at its breaking point"--Book jacket. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
