When British soldiers attack his village, 14-year-old Saxso needs to draw on all that he has learned and all of his strength to rescue his mother and sisters. This would make a good movie, probably an indie or PBS; I think it might be too subtle for a mainstream film. This enjoyable story also gave me a clearer picture of the way the French, British, and Native Americans interacted during the colonial period. ( ) This story is about a young boy, whose name is Saxso. It tells about his life when the British attack his village. The war is going on and life is scary in his village. Many people are scared and some are even taken hostage. Saxso is doing his best to be brave. The book tells about his struggles and his journey. In this book a young Native American boy named Saxso was living a normal life until the British attack his tribe. He and his tribe believe that they have escaped attack just in time until they travel back to their home. Under this attack Saxso's family gets pulled apart. This book follows him as he ventures off to locate and reunite with them. My son rates this book. The story is about an Abinaki Indian living in St. Francis. The way of their village is a cross between their old ways and the integration of the Roman Catholic French. They are in a time of peace when a friend warns of a raid that will take place before the coming dawn by the Bostoniaks and the White Devil Rogers. Saxso is 14 winters old and in charge of his family. He must keep them safe. The moral of the story is not be bitter, keep the winter out/aka hatred and keep the summer in/aka love, in your heart. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
