Overall Opinion:
Gavin will do anything to win back Jamie after a botched proposal that left her confused and hurt, she strikes up a proposal: hot sex with no strings attached. When the Ex-Marine accepts the crazy proposition, their sizzling chemistry is off the charts. Vowing to win her back by Christmas, would they be able to face their own inner demons to take a chance at love? Or would a battle of wits destroy everything they have ever worked for?
If unknownst to other readers, this is the fourth book of the “Hot Scots” series which follows the MacTaggart family saga. In my opinion, not exactly a standalone. The previous couples from the earlier editions do make their appearances and their stories interlock with the main leads for “Gift-Wrapped in a Kilt”.
For this series, the main leads Gavin and Jamie whirlwind romance seemed ideal but they face issues from their past that prevents them initiating the next steps of their relationship. The MacTaggart family takes it upon themselves to interfere by pushing them to open up about their feelings, fears, and everything in between. The overall series was somewhat engaging and the steamy oh la la scenes were well written. I will mention, I did find it weird how open everyone and by everyone, I mean the immediate family, was with their sex lives, with each other. That was a major turn off and obviously disturbing. The story itself wasn't intriguing enough to make me what to read until the end. The characters back and forth was childish and they seemed very whiny and immature. It wasn't good nor bad, just blah. Series was dropped by chapter 12 at 26%.
