I chose this book for text connections because every child can relate and connect to things they like best. This book is all about connections, whether it to self, books, or the world around us. Great for 1st graders.

This book is all about a little boy named James and what he loves the most.

This book is broken into four short chapters, entitled, "The Twins", "Grandma's House", "The County Fair", and "Angela." Each chapter tells of a journey that the main character, a young boy named James, takes with his parents. Each time they travel, they use a different form of transportation and participate in different activities. Each chapter explains four things James and his family do on each trip and at the end of the chapter, the author asks the reader to predict which activity James liked best.
