When it comes to thrillers Hank Phillippi Ryan does not disappoint. As with her other books, you will be hooked immediately and will be flipping pages quickly to rush to see what is going to happen next. Then you will be in for a surprise as you reach the end and say, "did not see that coming." Highly recommend for anyone that wants to read a very good book that will keep you interested through the end. I loved Hank Phillippi Ryan’s “Trust Me”, so I was excited to see a new book coming out. Unfortunately I did not feel that excitement once I started reading. I never felt any real connection to any of the characters. We have two lawyers and one soon to be a lawyer. One lawyer is married to the soon to be lawyer. The two lawyers despise each other. The soon to be a lawyer is now going to be working with the despised lawyer... And this is kind of how I felt reading the book. The story flips back-and-forth between now and six years ago. I think that might be part of my disconnection. At first I found it hard to keep track of which time we were in, along with who was who in each period. I also feel that just as a character’s point of view was getting interesting, the chapter stopped and moved to a new character. It just left me feeling detached from each character. 3.5 stars rounded up. I loved Hank Phillippi Ryan’s “Trust Me”, so I was excited to see a new book coming out. Fast paced and deviously plotted, with Hank's characteristic wit and razor sharp dialogue. She's done it again! Another stellar read with a crafty twist! Law student Rachel North will tell you, without hesitation, what she knows to be true. She's smart, she's a hard worker, she does the right thing. She's successfully married to a faithful and devoted husband, a lion of Boston's defense bar. And her internship with the District Attorney's office is her ticket to a successful future. Problem is--she's wrong. And in this cat and mouse game--the battle for justice becomes a battle for survival. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

The story is told via alternating voices - Jack, Rachel and Martha, the DA. I try not to figure out mysteries and just immerse myself in the story so I did not try to figure out who the culprit is.
I've really enjoyed reading Hank's book - I discovered her recently - and this one did not disappoint. ( )
