Oh these ladies. When you put them together, you get something that is just so good.

The V Games books are not a standalone. If you haven't read the other two books, you really need to read them before you read this one because there are things in it which you won't understand if you haven't read them. There's a lot of history and all the major players are wound around each other and jumping in would leave you in a huge twist of yarn.

Vas is the illegitamte sone of one of the Russian mob's First Families. His legitimate sisters are both married quite well, and he's their father's only male heir. He can't stand his father but he loves 3 things in his life, his two sisters, fighting in the underground fights, and Darya, a Vasilev slave. He looks for Darya whenever he sees his sister Irina, whose father-in-law holds Darya's leash.

Darya grew up in a church orphanage and then in a convent, until the devil man came and took her away and gave her to the man she sees as Molokh, a demon. Now she lives her life under Molokh's eyes and fists. Her only joy is when she gets to see Vas. Then one day, her life vastly changes. The only constant in her life is Vas, and she wants it to stay that way.

This book is intense. There is a lot going on, outside of all the conspiracies and convolutions that go with being part of a Russian mob family. Darya is so amazingly strong, I think. She's managed to survive a whole lot, and she didn't lose herself altogether, which is amazing. Vas is just managing to come into his own. He knows who he is and who he wants to be, and he is now able to be that person. I didn't entirely like him back when we first met him, but I've liked him more and more in each book.

I love the stories in this world, and I can't wait to see where it goes next.

If Russian Mafia and The Hunger Games had a baby it would be this series. Only ten times more sadistic and dark. These two authors and their minds scare me while at the same time the lure me in with fresh baked cookies. I cannot seem to stay away from the Darkside with these two.

I hope this isn't really the end of the series because this ending?!? Sweet holy titfire. I need more. ( )

I’d give this book 100 stars, if I could! It is absolutely brilliant, and everything I have come to love about Dukey & Websters’ duo books. They are dark, raw, full of angst, passion and truly real to their core. This book gives us such and insight into Vas, and I really got to know him and love/hate him.

The characters were beautifully written. they were full of personality, details and characteristics, really making them come to life. That, mixed with the depth in the world, really meant that it was easy for me to fall in love with the story, and truly become part of it. I was completely addicted to this read, and found myself unable to put it down.

Page after page, I fell more in love with this read, and really couldn’t put it down. I read it in two days, which is very fast, when you have a newborn! I wholeheartedly recommend this book!! ( )
