Current read: A whimsical, humorous and, at times, thoughtful view of hero worship, family loyalty, and bravery. And I love it. I also think it should be book #3 instead of #5 in the series. Just saying.

1st read: Worth it if only for the "battle of the bards" which had me laughing for days. "Jug Jug Pu-we, witta woo etc..." ( )

Good work by Gerald Morris. The satirical takes on two legends about lovers, both Tristram and Isolde and Culloch and Olwen are fun. This fits in nicely with Dinadan's own avoidance of romance in any form. ( )

Love ALL his retellings!!!

A funny book about Tristan(of Tristan and Isodul, or what ever that girls name is) brother. Dinadan is a knight with no dreams for glory. He does not even want to be a knight. He wants to be a minstrel. His brother on the other hand is living the life of a famous knight in chase of a lady. Dinadan gets knighted by his father and his quest begin. On the way he meets Iso-whateverhernameis's old handmaiden and a complete knuckle head. It is a amusing adventure for everyone. ( )

funny beyond description! laugh-out-loud! (also read: the squire's tale; the squire, his knight and his lady; savage damsel and the dwarf;parsifal's page - these are the only ones i've read. there are more in the series i think. well worth reading. ( )
