I was really looking forward to reading this as I love collecting children's books for my 5 year old. Once I started to read I was a little puzzled as it didn't seem to rhyme in the way I was expecting. As the story progressed I was upset at some of the actions that happened to some characters and was not happy by the end. This is only my opinion but I am willing to try the authors other works. I do love the art work in this book. ( )

This book has great illustrations and a fun story to go along with them. It has a great message about friendship. It is a good book to read with someone. ( )

My second grade class had some things they liked about this book and some suggestions, (things they did not like). They really liked that the book was about finding friends and being with family. They also liked that the warthog did not give up on making friends. Some students mentioned they didn't like the possibly mean farmer, the crying warthog, and the squished toad. Many of the students did not like that the warthog did not at least make one new friend during his ordeal..they would have liked to seen that, even though they understood the message of the book. I read this book to my 5 year olds son. He enjoyed it. Great story and rhyming. The story is about a Warthog finding new friends & hopefully finding his way home. My only thing was the last little animal encounter. I simply told my son he had a booboo. Having to come up with a way to explain that gave the story a somber feel. Over all, loved the ending & storyline. I was so glad to receive the ARC copy in return for my honest review. ( )

The illustrations for this little book are cute. That being said, the book itself doesn't work. Rhyming is awkward and the story doesn't make sense. I would not recommend this for kids. ( )
