It’s not a death or anything devastating. Yeah, maybe I’m an easy cryer, but the writing in this really got to me. Happily. Sure, there were a couple of times I was mad at a character and wanted to say “just talk...” but it worked out well in the end. And without spoilers, we know whose story is next and I’m so glad because.... 5th book in the series. Can be read as a standalone. Author insider reference - if you’ve read the Hanover House series by the same author, you’ll find a paragraph where the owner of the troubled boys school talks about the research that Evelyn Talbot is doing in Alaska. Very cool. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. This is an auto buy author for me so also purchased a copy to keep. However, there was a lot more to the story than just this. I liked that the majority of the story was all of them dealing with getting over the events of 13 years ago. Well written as always from BN. (
