Review of the 1989 edition: This workbook contains many tips for organizing the papers and other documents associated with genealogical research and I may use some of the sample forms to better organize my own work. This guide is outdated, however, in that it pre-dates popular use of the Internet (it was published in 1989) and so the section on using computers for research is not useful at all. Still, it gives a good over view of pedigrees versus lineages versus descendancies and also explains the various numbering systems in-depth. I recommend it for those latter points and the aforementioned forms, just skip the section on computers. There is a 1999 version, but even it will miss the latest advances in Internet-based genealogy research. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

I'm still undecided. I love organizing my files and printing everything under the sun, and I know right where everything is. If you are a part of my family, I have a file on you...(lolol). But, I also am starting to computerize my documents. This doesn't mean I'll be throwing out my original documents...or any other documents for that matter. I simply don't trust a computer to never crash. And I don't trust backup drives because I lost two different drives AT THE VERY SAME TIME once. So, I'll keep my two 4-drawer filing cabinets. Thank you. ( )
