This was a great start to this series. It took me a little while to get invested but once the little tidbits for the future were laid out, I got hooked.

Both our leads are compelling characters. Haley is a heroine you can't help but root for because she is the everyday girl (complete with your not so everyday backstory). Jax is mysterious but sweet; definitely swoon worthy.

Parts of this seemed a little choppy to me. Conversations felt a little cut short at times or like things were intentionally kept in the dark; so I had to reread passages a few times to understand what was happening. But that kinda goes with the serialized novella style this story is told in.

Overall, it's a pretty refreshing take on the rockstar romance when all is said and done. It has some components of previous rockstar reads I've seen over the years but it has its own unique, Piper Lawson twist to it.

I can't wait to see what happens next!
