I really love this book, but I'm not giving it a glowing review because Ethan annoyed me so much. He refused to believe Olive even when the signs against his a-hole brother is clear. Olive shouldn't have taken him back. I'm craving for unhappy ending for this book ( ) This was OK. I tend to really enjoy books by this author and the tropes of hating you/loving you and a fake relationship turning real usually push all my brain candy rom-com buttons but this one...felt a little phoned in. Which is funny because I go into this sort of book knowing it’s like a cookie cutter format and will be utterly predictable but it still fell a bit flat and I didn’t warn up to the characters quite enough to care. I read in a different review of a different book that what makes a romance great is when you fall in love with the characters as they fall in love with each other and that just didn’t happen here. It was fine, it’s worth a library check out, it’s a solid vacation book but it’s nothing special. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
Olive Torres is used to being the unlucky twin: from inexplicable mishaps to a recent layoff, her life seems to be almost comically jinxed. By contrast, her sister Ami is an eternal champion ... she even managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a slew of contests. Unfortunately for Olive, the only thing worse than constant bad luck is having to spend the wedding day with the best man (and her nemesis), Ethan Thomas. Olive braces herself for wedding hell, determined to put on a brave face, but when the entire wedding party gets food poisoning, the only people who aren't affected are Olive and Ethan. Suddenly there's a free honeymoon up for grabs, and Olive will be damned if Ethan gets to enjoy paradise solo. Agreeing to a temporary truce, the pair head for Maui. After all, ten days of bliss is worth having to assume the role of loving newlyweds, right? But the weird thing is . . . Olive doesn't mind playing pretend. In fact, the more she pretends to be the luckiest woman alive, the more it feels like she might be. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
