The Gospel of Matthew contains 28 chapters, detailing the birth, life, ministry, death, resurrection, of a Jewish rabbi named Jesus of Nazareth. The book begins with Jesus’s family tree, going all the way back to Abraham. Chapters 5-7 are a retelling of Jesus’s most famous sermon, called “The Sermon On The Mount.” Jesus used miracles, riddles, and parables to teach people what god the father is really like, and he often challenged the religious leaders of his day, which made them very angry. He even went into the temple of Jerusalem during the Passover celebration and flipped the tables of those who were turning a profit there. Just as Jesus prophesied to his disciples, he was delivered up to the Roman government, beaten, spat upon, humiliated, and finally crucified. Three days later, also as Jesus foretold, he was resurrected from the dead, and returned to commission his disciples a final mission at the end of the book of Matthew.

It’s not easy to read 28 chapters of a nonfiction book in one sitting. But my mom forced me to. So here’s my opinion: The book of Matthew was a very religious book. So all you atheists out there might not be so interested in my opinion on a book in the Bible. I liked the book of Matthew because it had no cliffhangers. It told the whole story. It was easier to understand than the older translations I have read because it did not talketh like thou doth before. My favorite part was when Jesus predicted his own death and resurrection secretly years before it happened. ( )
