I found this book started strong, with a good premise, and a lot of potential as a concept. Being an erotic romance, the instalust the characters experience is what I expected, and is fine - I knew what I picked up, after all. But them "being in love" after only a week or so of knowing each other was hard to believe - they barely knew each other. The author tries to excuse this by introducing the idea of them being "mates" (soul mates basically) in the last 20 pages. There were also characters and world building introduced that did not get fully fleshed out (magic users, vampires, werewolves and other shifters, humans who hunt supernaturals), leaving a lot of details only lightly touched on. This could have benefitted from either being longer, to flesh these elements out, or having these additional details left to future books. Overall, it was an okay read, though I won't read further into the series. ( )

An intense and steamy story with action from start to finish. My main issue was the amount of time the couple spent sleeping (and other activities!) on the hard ground and out in woods. Ouch! Ok, maybe sexy but this city girl just kept thinking of a soft bed, a convenient bathroom, maybe covers and not worrying about insects? The lack of amenities didn’t bother the couple at all. True rancher and cowboy. I guess I should admire their fortitude. I’ll try harder with the next book. It was a good world setup that I will definitely continue reading. ( )
