The hero of the story, Val, was unlike any of the other cartel-type men that are usually written. I mean that in a good way. He was voiced by Brian Pallino. His accent, strength and pure sexiness was off the charts.
As someone that does not listen to many cartel books, I am so glad I listened to this one. The author is new to me and I look forward to any other stories she may release in the Carrera Cartel series.
There was some upsetting cartel violence but that is to be expected in this kind of story. The story itself is so good, the characters are well written and there was the right amount of steamy hot sex. I recommend this book, especially in audiobook format. (
