Kind of a predictable ending but still good. ( )

Well, having all five volumes of this available to read at once helped turn this series into an unexpected delight. The humor, characters, drama and twists propelled me through the books quickly and eagerly. The fan service was unnecessary and probably the biggest flaw in the book, but was at least relatively mild compared to some of the other manga I have read.

Sure, the ending felt a bit rushed and a little too pat. There were a lot of talking heads telling us what happened after the starship Astra made its final planetfall rather than the book having the time to show us, but that could have easily doubled the length of the series and might have killed my interest in the long run. I'm satisfied with the tight little package delivered. ( )
