giocando giocando ho appreso che c'è tutto un filone "rosato", romance e dintorni, sul periodo di guerra, che tende a veicolare e ricostruire sentimenti e sensazioni del vivere quotidiano sotto bombardamenti e razionamenti Tecnicamente qui siamo già nel dopoguerra, 1947, anno del matrimonio dell'allora Principessa Elisabetta, ma la fame, la penuria, le file, la povertà e l'infelicità perdurante che ha fatto seguito all'euforia della vittoria, serpeggia ancora. Le classi medio basse sono impantanate in una situzione che sembra senza via d'uscita e sembrano non riuscire più a sperare che andrà meglio. Tante persone sono rimaste completamente sole al mondo, ci sono i reduci dai lager che ancora hanno paura a dichiararsi e continuano a "nascondere" la loro identità , c'è chi sceglie di dare uno strappo a tutto ed emigrare nei paesi del Commonwealth Tutto questo è visto con gli occhi di due ricamatrici di fino dell'atelier dove si serve Casa Reale e dove verrà confezionato l'abito per le prime nozze del secolo
La ricostruzione storica mi sembra buona, migliore di altri che mi è capitato di leggere; non è prettamente un romanzo storico ma non lo definirei neppuro solo un romance
