This is a very short biography about Tom Hanks by author Chris Dicker. When I came across this book I couldn’t wait to read it because Tom Hanks is one of my personal favorites and I wanted to learn more about him, so I entered the giveaway at Librarything.com and won a copy.

It’s a good general biography and offers many facts about Tom Hanks that I didn’t know previously. Readers will learn about how he grew up, including some of his struggles and failures, his political status, what’s important to him, his income earned for the movies he’s acted in, and more.

This biography has many straight forward facts, but maybe too basic for some readers. Many facts are listed in a format that make it a little redundant and humdrum at times. There were also some editing issues, however, I did still like it and think it would be an ideal resource for students writing a paper or for someone just looking for some general facts about him.

This is a new to me author and I noticed there are many other biographies written by this author. I look forward to checking some of those out as well.

Tom Hanks Biography by Chris Dicker was a very enjoyable read.
The "INTRO" informs us of why he is a successful, well-known actor; A jump from birth to how his acting career began. There are a few projects listed with a Major accomplishment. Next, some public recognitions and political views.
The contents thereafter, are listed in the chapters as individual sections. It is a casual, but informative biography with many surprising "facts."
The biography as written is worth the read but, don't expect the writing to be "polished." It needed more proofreading, better sentence structure and fluidity. The book is however, written in a simple, sincere way which makes it easy, quick and
satisfying. The book enlightens the reader to the man, "Tom Hanks" and that is its purpose!

Tom Hanks biography contains detailed facts about his life that were obviously researched a great deal. The biography portrays Hanks in several aspects of his life and I admire the research and passion that went into the project.
The writing has a lot to be desired. I found many typos and grammatical errors to be distracting. With some proofreading, editing, and perhaps a few pictures, I feel this biography has potential. ( )

One in a series of short biographies of well known personalities, this puts together in a logical manner the good, the iffy, and the questionable about a Hollywood personality well regarded by many. There is little here that is not positive, a rarity in today's Hollywood. It even details the gross income of each of his movies.
He roots for the Cleveland Indians! Woohoo! ( )
