"a young girl in Iraq saw the wild beauty of the rivers and marshes and dunes and ancient ruins in her country and dreamed of designing wild and beautiful cities of her own" About Zaha Hadid, one of the most famous architects of the world who has designed many landmark buildings. About the challenges she faced and how she went on despite those. I'm a fan of Jeanette Winter's books for a lot of reasons, but I'm particularly delighted with this one, a biography of Iranian architect Zaha Hadid. I had never heard of Hadid, but her structures are glorious, and her firm insistence on creating them is awe-inspiring. The harmony of the imagery and the story are Winter's though, and she does an amazing job creating a delightful whole. Thank you for telling the story of a strong Arab woman architect. These are the role models that we want to keep sharing. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

I love the illustrations in this book and that the words are simple. This is a great way to show kids that they can hone their creativity and not feel limited. Its also a good history lesson on a very famous architect. Its inspiring and makes you feel good.
