Then it slowly lost its burn and turned into a repetitive disappointment. I got so tired of the h's inner dialog. On and on with thoughts of both male mc's. And! Those thoughts were the SAME thoughts from bk#1 & bk#2. Very little changes in any of it. The adult intimate scenes were often hot and steamy, but..... They sometimes came off as awkward. Really this should have been a 'Duet' and not a trilogy. Take out all the repetitive thoughts and descriptions from bk#2 & 3 and it would have been powerful. I don't know why Ms. Godwin, who is an amazing writer, stretched this out into 3 books. By doing so it lost a lot of its energy. There was a lot to like, but it got buried in repetition. I loved the first book, I was not impressed by the second, and I was feeling the same about this one - until I wasn't lol. I wasn't very into the storyline of this one for most of the book, it felt way too similar to the second and I just couldn't work myself up to be excited about 300 pages of constant angst and indecision. Now, like I said, I wasn't into the book until I was. I knew she would choose Cole, how could she not? They're chemistry was so incredible and off the charts this whole series, and I couldn't imagine her giving that up. What I wasn't really expecting, and honestly probably should have, was her picking Cole and then spending ~7 months trying to convince herself she needed to let Trace go. I knew she'd be heartbroken either way, but I honestly didn't expect her to be so attached to him for so long. I think Pam Godwin had an incredibly obvious favorite between Trace and Cole. Cole and Danni were so clearly soulmates. Trace and Danni's love for each other was apparent; but they don't have the same electricity as Cole and Danni. Any time Trace and Danni were together, Godwin felt like she needed to really go into length about Danni's feelings for him (as though to convince us Trace was a worthy competitor to Cole). Cole and Danni's chemistry was tangible, it leapt off the pages. I didn't need to be told that they had a deep connection because I could feel it. But with Trace, Godwin felt the need to ramble on and on about how deeply in love Danni was. I don't want to be constantly told that these two characters are really (no really!) in love, I want to feel it and witness the why's and how's for myself. In a scenario like this one, the reader should be just as undecided about who to pick as Danni is/was. This wasn't a problem solely laid on this book, it was a massive problem in the second one as well. Now, with the actual ending- I was very happy!! It didn't feel forced, and I was very worried Godwin would spin some scenario in which Danni would end up with one of them by default. I'm glad that Danni and Cole finally had their deserved closure, and Trace and Danni get to move on and be totally together, finally. Overall a really enjoyable, and quite dramatic, series. Definitely not the best I've read from Godwin, but still fun and emotional. I'm not sure why I finished this series so fast when I don't even really like it. So I guess Pam Godwin deserves some credit for making me want to find out what happened. Considering all of the good reviews this series has gotten, I think it's mostly me and not the books. She did end up with who I wanted her to end up with, so that was good I guess. So then why 2 stars? She is just such an annoying main character. So whiny and weak and she just can't make up her own mind. I kind of like Cole and Trace, but the story just got so ridiculous with this book and then the storyline crossed over from insane to blegh and icky and it just kind of lost me. This is not the type of triangle I enjoy reading (you seriously must give the Katheen Turner books by Tiffany Snow a try. Now that is an amazing triangle!). This book is mostly about sex and making a choice that takes forever. I was bored after a short while and that never really went away. Oh well, you can't win them all. Give it a try for yourself. There are many good reviews out there and this is simply my opinion. You might love it. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Three Is A War is a continuation of this marvelous love triangle between these three individuals: Cole, Danni and Trace. Cole and Trace have kidnapped Danni to a remote cabin in the mountains where all three will live together and get to the bottom of their issues and what is truly right between these individuals. There is such great tension that grows between these all individuals. We really get to the bottom of their issues, we see a change in the bond between Cole and Trace which is utterly delightful. The previous book there was so much animosity, but in this one we see their true bond of friendship despite what is between them involving Danni. Then we have Danni who is still completely torn between these two men.
We do see this story quite resolved. And I liked that the author didn't leave one of them alone (As he has books in her Deliver series. I was satisfied with how this book ends. I feel like the author didn't go out the easy way but she also brought it to a conclusion that makes perfect sense. It definitely had plenty of feels in what we see these individuals go through in this one here. There is some wisdom in what the men display here and a maturity that we didn't quite get to see in the previous book which I highly appreciated. I really valued the development of the romance that occurs and even if you aren't a big fan of love triangles I do think that this one was so delicately handled and it does have some higher levels of spice than I would have liked. I did find that this final installment was satisfying and packed with feels. ( )
