Video Ideas seems to cover it all. Topics covered include lighting, location, make-up, props, as well as the beginning preparation with scripts and storyboards. This is a great resource for any beginner videography. Though it's designed with kids in mind, I think adults would have fun reading through it as well.
My favorite parts of the book?
First, there's a DIY instruction set on how to make your own light reflector. If you consider kids are probably going to be reading this book, it's helpful to have low to no cost options for them.
Second, the sound effect ideas! This has always fascinated me. While watching a movie the other night, I was curious about how they made the sound. Was it squishing a cantaloupe? That's the kind of ideas this book has, though only briefly. Still, it's a start, a small spark that could inspire the reader to come up with ideas on their own.
Overall, this would be a great gift for a budding filmmaker. I really enough flipping through this book. Some of the ideas in here almost inspire me to go out and make a film! Well...almost. I received a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest opinion. ( )
