"Chii and her husband are like any other happily married couple, except for one thing: Chii was assigned male at birth. Chii details her autobiographical account of growing up with gender dysphoria and ultimately deciding to transition in her early adult years. Shortly after Chii starts transitioning, she meets a man who is instantly enamored by her, and although he is surprised when Chii eventually tells him she used to live as a guy, he still wants to go out with her. As Chii continues to transition, her boyfriend supports her through the process, culminating in their marriage once her transition is complete"--Provided by Goodreads.com.… (altro)

This was a wonderful and informative manga! I love how the author pauses the story to explain various LGBT terms. It's simplified and easy to understand, while also being an adorable love story. Bonus points for her adorable art style~ ( )

Definitely offered a lot of insight into something I'm not entirely well-versed in, and a heart-warming narrative to go along with it, but Christ was it text-heavy. Chii mentioned that this book was produced, page-by-page, from her blog posts, so I understand it's necessity, but it still doesn't coalesce into digestible reading. Heh, perhaps I'm being a bit too mean; truly, there was never a bad moment as to WHAT was being said, only in HOW it was presented. For a comic, there are just too many pages dedicated to paragraphs and negative space. I guess to sum up my experience, this was my first contact into transgender literature and I appreciated my time with it (despite its presentation). If I could offer my own opinion on how to improve it, an editor, more developed illustrations (hardly any panel had so much as a background image), more pages to allow the text to flow more naturally, would have all made good improvements. I wish the best for Chii, and hope she may only improve in her skills as an author! ( )

this was very cute but the cognitive dissonance between the art style and the parts about the dystopian legal system was very jarring. the informational part was a bit basic and definitely I was not the target audience. ( )
