Come out of the cold, into the warm... Dean Chapman has always had a thing for April Reid, 'the girl next door', the woman he's never had. What he doesn't know is that while he made puppy dog eyes at her, her younger brother Jay spent time looking at him the same way. Now, years later, he considers the two Reid siblings as close friends, nothing more. Little does he know Jay is still in love with him, always has been, always will be, but he's about to find out. When he does, it not only throws his sexuality into question, it shines an ugly light in his direction. Reacting as he often does, on impulse, he's about to make an understandable but life-altering mistake... and then he makes another one. Dean has to take a long look at himself and he isn't sure he likes what he sees. He can't remember being this arrogant, not to mention a control freak, and that's only a few of the nicer things April Reid has taken to calling him in defence of her brother. Can he change? Does he want to? Does he even need to, or is it really just a question of making the right choice? It's winter and snow is falling, but he doesn't yet know which of them might yet be left out in the cold. If Dean isn't careful, he might lose the one person who can take him just as he is, ego included.… (altro)

An extremely annoying MC with what can be only described as a head way too big for his shoulders, and that's only cause English is not my mother tongue and I can't think of a word describing exactly what I mean. I have quite a few very delicious swearwords for him in Serbian though.

You have the other MC who might as well be a doormat.

The only character who acts reasonably in this whole story is the doormat's sister.

The good thing is that by the end of the book, the big headed guy pulls his head out of his ass just a little (enough that he becomes just mildly detestable), and the doormat... well, he pretty much stays a doormat.

But in spite of all of that, it really is an okay book. ( )

Did anyone like Dean?! I don't mind the character who isn't sure he's gay or bi because he only seems to like this one guy because they usually have thoughts about liking and/or loving the other guy, they just can't tell him, or they don't know how to handle their feelings; however, Dean was a a total douche bag. I admit he did have a few thoughts where he thought he cared about Jay, but most of his thoughts were about how he was egotistical and selfish because he didn't love Jay and never would, but he couldn't walk away. I really wish Jay would have put up a bigger fight about Dean's issues, and I wish he would have walked away and stayed away from Dean... I think he deserves to much better. ( )

80% read (and God, I feel like I need a shower now. *shudders*)

There is not one likable character in this book. But Dean... Dean wins the award for biggest asshole in a m/m fiction. He is an utter prick and nothing could possibly redeem his sins against Jay. ( )

What happen if you fall in love with your best friend? No problem if you are a woman and he is a man. But if you are a gay guy and he is a straight guy, maybe troubles are coming.

Jay is a little, tiny guy with an Angel shape who always has been in love with Dean, is neighboormate. When Dean knows about Jay's feelings he decides to try this thing, to makes love to Jay and sees what happen... Sex is wonderful and maybe a life together will be. But Dean is not gay, he is a womanizer, he loves women very much. And feels disgust if another man proves interest in him, but if this man is Jay, he feels only lust, and maybe love. Could he feels love for Jay, no matter what genre he is?

Dean is an hunk man, with a dominant behaviour... and Jay is happy to loose control.

I like very much this book. The way in which Dean approaches his feelings for Jay, how he understands that maybe is not only lust who draws him to Jay... The sex scenes are exciting, the book is very centered on the Dean figure, how he wonders why he enjoys so much sex with Jay, even if he is not gay...
